Southern Farming Systems Applauds Greta Duff’s GRDC Appointment
Southern Farming Systems (SFS) is delighted to congratulate our Research and Extension Coordinator, Greta Duff, on her appointment to the GRDC Southern Panel. This is a proud moment for our organisation and the wider farming community in the Victorian and Tasmanian High Rainfall Zones.
Greta’s appointment reinforces the panels dedication to regional representation and underscores her deep connection to the grassroots challenges and opportunities experienced by farmers across southern Australia.
SFS Chair Scott Chirnside said “We are thrilled by Greta’s appointment to the GRDC Southern Panel. As our Research and Extension Coordinator, she works tirelessly with growers across Victoria and Tasmania to ensure local farming challenges are heard and addressed. Her knowledge, passion and commitment make her an outstanding advocate for high rainfall zone farmers.”
Greta brings a wealth of local knowledge and a focus on practical, science-based solutions. Her work with SFS has connected research outcomes directly with farming practices, helping growers navigate seasonal variability, crop rotations, and new innovations in sustainable agriculture.
“I am honoured to be selected for this role,” Greta said. “It’s a privilege to represent our farming communities within the decision-making framework of the GRDC, where our collective experiences and innovations can influence research and development priorities.”
As a member of the GRDC Southern Panel, Greta will play a pivotal role in guiding investment in research that supports sustainable and profitable farming systems throughout Victoria and Tasmania, particularly in the high rainfall zones where challenges and opportunities are unique.
