Expansion of the SFS staff team in Tasmania

SFS Tasmania is excited to announce that Grace Evans, Senior Research & Extension Officer, has moved from Victoria to Launceston and joined the SFS Tassie team!

Grace arrived start of May and got straight into it with sowing wheat and barley trials at the Hagley site with Brett and Regan.  The  Hagley site is being sown slightly earlier than usual as there is the opportunity for it to be irrigated in the coming weeks. The NVT wheat and barley trials sown towards the end of April are up and away, with great germination and establishment. Grace is looking forward to a whole new world of agronomy and many new trials and crop types she hasn’t had the chance to work with previously.

Grace will still visit the Vic team and attend all the big events like AgriFocus & Results Day. In her new role she hopes to bring partners and members closer together, and show them that the benefits of much of the research that SFS does, has relevance in both states.  Grace looks forward to meeting Tassie Members at upcoming events, and working with them in the future.
