After a successful Farmer-Q in August, we are pleased to be presenting stock containment conversations; the next in this community series. 

 Join us for a conversation on how stock containment can protect your soil and pasture, keep your livestock healthy and be a useful addition to your farming business.

TOPICS:      

  • Setting up a Stock Containment Area (SCA), siting, rules and requirements -Jessie Wettenhall, SFS 
  • Hear firsthand experience from Ricky Luhrs and Darren Schurmann on how they have set up their SCA and what works for them in their farm business 
  • Pasture and grazing management to build a feed wedge, assessing pastures for resowing, manipulating or maintaining – Jessie Wettenhall, SFS  
  • Managing animal health in containment and lambing ewe management with veterinarian Lexie Leonard 
  • Anna Sweeney will discuss regenerative grazing, soil management and the importance of maintaining ground cover.
